PAXy — Wake Up Miami! Wakes Up FANS

Wake Up Miami!, a creation of PAXy, a non-profit inspiring creativity and helping the Miami community to become Art Lovers and Art Makers, presented Gabriel Beavers and his quartet performing a free live performance on April 8 outside the University Metrorail Train Station in Coral Gables.

Beavers is an associate professor of bassoon at the Frost School of Music and also performs with the NU-DECO ensemble, and serves as 2nd bassoon in the Mountains Festival Orchestra in Durango, Colorado.

Before joining the faculty of the Frost, he was principal bassoon with the Baton Rouge Symphony and Virginia Symphony among others and was a fellow with the New World Symphony.  In addition, Mr. Beavers has an active schedule of solo and chamber performances.  He has given recitals throughout the United States and at international double reed festivals.

FANS met after the performance for breakfast at the Three Fold Cafe in Coral Gables.

Hosts for this bright and early FAN event were Helaine Ohayon and Linda Saker.
