On Thursday, April 18, at Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts/Knight Concert Hall, Miami’s Nu Deco Ensemble gave another electrifying performance. This one featured singer-songwriter Ben Folds and introduced New Zealand’s multi-disciplinary singer, Kimbra.
The FAN-funded evening also included Aaron Copland’s iconic ballet score, Billy The Kid, taking the listener on a musical journey through the life of the notorious outlaw; an exploration of the soul music of Bill Withers; and an electro-acoustic Spiritual America that explores secular spirituality in American culture through song and imagery with Wye Oak singer, Jenn Wasner.
Dinner was at the Café at Books & Books at the Arsht. Hosts were Sydney Carpel and Heather Russell.
