On Friday, March 4 at the New World Center, FANS listened as Pablo Heras-Casado conducted Emanuel Ax & the New World Symphony at a Dress Rehearsal, in a program of Beethoven, Bartok, and Dvorak, followed by a box lunch with NWS fellows.
Master pianist Emanuel Ax—one of the most renowned artists of our time and a long-time collaborator with NWS—returned for an extraordinary interpretation of Beethoven’s grandiose Piano Concerto No. 5 “Emperor”; also, Bartók’s dances and Dvořák’s Seventh Symphony.
NWS was conducted by Pablo Heras-Casado, Musical America’s 2014 Conductor of the Year.
Hosts were Deborah Slott and Suzanne Stolar.
