George Benson at Jazz Roots: FAN’s Smoothest CC Yet

On Friday, February 16, at the Adrienne Arsht Center, Knight Concert Hall, FANS enjoyed “A Night of Breezin’ and Greatest Hits,” with one of the greatest artists in jazz history, 10-time Grammy winner and NEA Jazz Master George Benson. He is a versatile musician whose skills find him crossing between straight-ahead jazz, smooth jazz and contemporary R & B.

Along the five-decade continuum of his career, he has been a jazz guitarist of unparalleled chops, and a vocalist with emotional range and sophistication. He regards himself as an entertainer in the broadest sense of the word — a singer of songs, a spinner of tales.

FANS were also invited to a pre-concert reception.

Dinner before the show was at Mignonette seafood/oyster bar. This successful, jazzy event was hosted by Paula Finkle and Maxene Posman.
