FAN Members Enjoy Private Tour of Special Collections at the Kislak Center, University of Miami

Thirty lucky FANS enjoyed lunch at the Faculty Club followed by a tour of the Kislak Center at the Richter Library at the University of Miami on March 27. The group went behind the scenes to see how articles in the special collection are conserved, and also was treated to a private tour of the curated displays at the new facilities.

Hosts Marilyn Berens and Sydney Carpel led the group. Following the event, the Kislak Center provided a cheese and wine reception.

And here’s a kind note FAN received from our UM hosts:

Dear FAN members,

On behalf of Cristina Favretto and all of us at Special Collections, I would like to thank you all for coming on Tuesday. It was very nice to host you as our very first group in our new space.

We hope you enjoyed your stay at the Kislak Center with all its treasures and the behind-the-scenes tour to our preservation lab.

We look forward to continuing this partnership with the Funding Arts Network and hope that you all will come back for another visit. Please feel free to reach out if you have any suggestions or questions regarding Special Collections: Cristina Favretto, Special Collections, University of Miami Libraries, Otto G. Richter Library.

And to keep informed about every event the UM libraries have to offer, we invite you to subscribe to our mailing list.

Kind regards,
