KNIGHT NEW WORK AWARD

FAN is delighted to present its 3rd Knight New Work Award (KNWA)

FAN and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation seek to broaden audiences  encourage new work and enhance Miami’s reputation as an arts venue by awarding $25,000 for a new work of art, presented in an innovative manner which will reach a broad cross section of the population.

Tigertail Productions, Inc. Global Caribbean II

 Global Carribean is a collaborative project among Tigertail, Haitian Cultural Alliance and Culture France. It will be a commission of new work for exhibit in Miami at the Little Haiti Cultural Center by three outstanding, interdisciplinary Haitian visual artists who were impacted by the recent earthquake. The artists will be selected and the exhibit will be curated by Edouard Duval Carrie, internationally renown Haitian-born and Miami-based visual artist and sculptor. The exhibit aims to reveal the contemporary face of Haiti by bringing contemporary rather than folkloric art work of excellence into prominence during Art Basel.

A 78-page color catalog published in English and French will be produced. There will be no charge to attend.

Appliations and guidelines for the 2011, $25,000 KNWA grant will be available in January 2011.
